(in Latin Ginkgo biloba) a
tree which grows in China, Japan and also in other
parts of East Asia. These trees called also „the
alive fossils” lived probably 250 million years
ago. One type of Ginko bilboa trees has survived till
our times. This species has got a grey and drab cortex
and the characteristic shape of leaves with two petals.
Its male and female flowers grow on two separate trees.
Thanks to its medicinal facilities it has got wide use
in medicine. One of these specimens grows in a court
park in ¦rednia Wie¶.
