The manors in Hoczew – first of them was a manor of the Bals. Situated  on the Hoczewka river was probably built after 1400. There was a small rectangular yard there. Jacek Fredro, Alexander’s father, was born in that historic house . Now there is a tiny fragment of the ruins. The second manor – it is a clasic, the Fredros’ family manor, which was built by Jacek Fredro (we don’t know exactly when). It was an old – Polish, groundfloor courthouse with four pillars in a porch but destroyed completely in 1946 (it was destroyed by the UPA – Ukrainian Insurrectional Army).
